Fast Diet Myths to Ignore Now

If you are the type of individual that values the honest-to-goodness truth when it comes to dieting, then it is important to debunk those fast diet myths running around with the intent to fool or scam you. In fact, weight loss and fitness myths are so great in number that many people find it hard to determine which is true or not. To make things a lot easier for you, here are some of the most popular myths that you need to steer clear of.

Myth: Fat-free diets can lead to a healthier and fat-free body.

Fact: According to the American Journal of Physiology, Endocrinology, and Metabolism, fat is critical for health because it is necessary for the functions of the vital organs and for the body’s absorption of minerals and vitamins. Additionally, fat is also good when it comes to dieting since the digestion of fats can suppress ghrelin, the hormone that makes you feel hungry, and spur the formation of peptides, the hormone that makes you feel full. So if you want to solely depend on fat-free diets in order to lose weight fast, it might do more damage than good.

Myth: Diet pills can make you lose weight within a few days!

Fact: Most advertising campaigns produced by pharmaceutical companies are filled with unbelievable claims, glossy pictures and customer testimonials that are meant to entice consumers into buying their weight loss supplements. Reports by the NHS revealed that the average rate of weight an individual can lose is approximately 2lbs a week; therefore, it is close to impossible to burn a substantial amount of belly fat just from using diet pills. Also, diet pills are designed to contain mixtures of diuretic ingredients that will make you lose weight by losing fluids more, but this is a whole lot different from losing body fat.

Myth: Garcinia Cambogia is absolutely safe and has no side effects.

Fact:  While Garcinia Cambogia is a proven miracle worker that can burn belly fat effectively and efficiently, it is not suitable for everyone. According to WebMD, the most common side effects associated from the use of this product include digestive tract discomfort, headache, nausea, low blood sugar levels and, in some cases, muscle degeneration. Furthermore, it is recommended to limit the intake of Garcinia for a short period only, preferably for not more than 12 weeks, since taking it for a longer period of time can be quite risky. In addition, before buying yourself one, you should take precautions in selecting the right brand. Some are not pure and have been diluted by manufacturers with other dubious substances.

With all the time, money and resources spent, the road to weight loss is certainly a hard one, which makes it all the more important to be aware of the myths and facts circulating around it. Being properly informed and taking safe measures can sometimes be the only difference between a successful diet and a drastically failed one, so before trying to lose that belly fat, you should be vigilant and do not forget to do your research.
